Egidius (Ed) was born in Tilburg, The Netherlands and lives in, Wigan, Greater Manchester (UK) with his wife, son and dogs. He has always been drawing, painting and etching since his early teens and enrolled in numerous anatomical, biological drawing and etching / Intaglio courses. He currently prefers to paint landscapes en plein air - i.e. Live & outdoors - wherever possible but in a more abstracted and impressionistic manner in a quick spontaneous fashion onto canvas. Field studies are then refined in the studio if required, or used as reference material for larger art pieces.
